Our story begins with two friends, Sarah and Elizabeth, who shared a passion for gorgeous dresses and helping women feel confident and elegant. After meeting at design school in the late 80s, they decided to open a small bridal shop together in London.
The early days were filled with learning and growing pains, but the shop quickly earned a reputation for carrying dresses with impeccable style, fit, and quality. Sarah and Elizabeth had an eye for spotting trends and styles that would help each woman shine on her special day.
Within a few years, the bridal shop expanded into providing dresses for all of life’s special events – from proms to parties. This expansion in the 90s allowed Debut Dresses® to become the household name it is today.

Those samples are then reviewed in detail to analyze the look, fit, construction, and quality. We refine each dress to perfection before reproducing it for our stores and website.
